Information

LinQ formed in March 2011 with forty-two girls from the island of Kyushu forming the first generation of the group. The audition for the group pulled in over 1,162 applicants for the first generation. However, nine girls were cut from the group before LinQ made their official debut at an event in Imuzu Hall. However, Nagami Yuna and Takiuchi Mirei soon left the group by the end of the month due to cancelling their contracts.

The group released their first single, entitled "Hajimemashite", in June at local shops and events. They release this single under the indies label JMP. However, three weeks before, the group lost more members as Takemura Keiko, Fujii Rika, and Fukudome Ayaka left the group. Seven other girls would leave the group before the year was up. LinQ made their major debut with the single "Calorie Nante" under the label T-Palette Records in November.

On December 2011, Ohba Ayaka, Shira Fuko, Yasukawa Atsuki, and Yamaki Ayano joined LinQ as the first part of the second generation. The second part joined on February 11, 2012 with Ito Maki, Kitayama Mao, Kimura Saki, Sakuraba Yurina, Tsuru Nichika, Mizuki Moe, and Yuji Narumi. That same day, Hattori Sayaka would also graduate from the group. By the end of the month, the group released their third single, entitled "Sakura Kajitsu / sakura Monogatari".
