Mori Megumi began doing street lives in her hometown of Hiroshima at the age of 15, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar. In April 2005, she graduated from college and started focusing on street performances full-time. Her presence gradually spread by word-of-mouth and she was eventually featured in newspapers and on local television shows.

In December of the same year, Mori signed to the indie label MULTI FORMAT STUDIO JAPAN and released her first single, "megumi mori". She promoted the single with a concert in Hiroshima Kenmin Bunka Center that had 500 people in attendance.

In 2007, Mori traveled to Hawaii to film several PVs and to shoot jacket covers. During her stay, she held many street lives. She later released her second single, "Nemurenu Yoru", and a PV collection DVD, megumi mori clips vol.1.

In 2008, Mori relocated to Tokyo and performed in live houses to promote her first full-length album, Tsudzuite Iku Hibi.

Mori's first acoustic mini-album Soba ni was released nationwide on March 25, 2009 under the indie label Rhythm REPUBLIC.
