Information

Hiroko Moriguchi was born and raised in Fukuoka to a strict mother after her parents divorced when she at 8. At the same time, she started to dream about becoming a singer and saw that her schoolmates were popular on a television music show as dancers. She got her dream when she able to place runnerup on a song contest and got a record deal. She debuted on July 1985 with the single Nizu no Hoshi he Ai wo Komete, where it was featured as the opening theme for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. This single was proven a smash hit but her follow up singles were not as successful untill 1989 when her music was featured in the anime Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, becoming successful once more.

Soon after, Moriguchi started to appear on variety shows where she was announced as the Queen on Monomane, beating the former winner Kudo Shizuka in a contest. In 1991, her single ETERNAL WIND ~Hohoemi wa Hikaru Kaze no Naka~ was featured as he opening theme for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam F91, going to the #9 position on the Oricon charts and earning enough popularity to go on to perform on the end of the year program Kouhaku Utagassen. Also in 1991, she started to star in various television doramas. Moriguchi's music has been used in various anims including various Gundam series.
