"Nageki no Mori" is the fifth single released by Ayane. The title track was used as the opening theme for the Playstation 2 game Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri. "COMPLEX IMAGE" is the opening theme song for the Miotsukushi-hen story arc within the game. While a DVD version of this single was not produced, the DVD accompanying the limited edition of Ayane's first album "ARCHIVE LOVERS", which was released about two months later, includes a promotional video for "Nageki no Mori". On the Oricon charts, the single peaked at the 30th weekly position and remained within the top 200 for 12 weeks.
