Nikkan Ultra Idol Duo Audition

Nikkan Ultra Idol Duo Audition (日韓 ウルトラアイドルデュオ オーディション) was an audition that aired on the TV show ASAYAN in January 2002.

1st & 2nd round

For the first audition round applicants were 47 girls, but no profile was shown for each girl. 21 girls from South Korea and 19 girls from Japan moved on to the second round (the TV show only showed 15 of the girls from Korea).

From out of 15,000 applicants, the final two chosen were Takahashi Marina from Japan and Choi Soo Young from Korea. At the time, Marina was 12 and Soo Young was only 11. The group made their musical debut in April of 2002 with the single "START".
