Nitta Eri (新田恵利) is a Japanese actress and former pop idol. She was a member of the popular 1980s supergroup Onyanko Club as member #4.

Information

Nitta Eri debuted as one of the original members of Onyanko Club in April 1985. By the group's first single, Nitta became one of the lead vocalists and front girl of the group.

Five months after the release of their first single, Nitta debuted as a solo singer with the single, "Fuyu no Opera Glass". This single was very successful, selling over 300,000 copies and reaching #1 on the Oricon charts. But, this success came bittersweet when her father died on Christmas Eve of 1985.

Nitta later graduated from Onyanko Club in 1987 and had a solo career up until 1990. After that, she took some time off from show business and married an Fuji TV producer in 1996. Later on, she went back to show business and has been acting in dramas and in variety shows. She was one of the many members to reunite with Onyanko Club in 2002.
