Miwako started singing as a child and always wanted to be a singer . In high school, she was noticed during a concert she gave with a group of friends. She moved to [[Tokyo]] to begin her career at [[Sony Music]]. She released two singles in 2000 under the label  [[Sony Music Entertainment#DefSTAR|DefSTAR Records]]. [[Shizuku (Okuda Miwako)|Shizuku]] and [[Tsu-ki|tsu-ki]]. Shizuku was used as the second ending of the anime GTO . Given the limited success of the single, Miwako's career stops. 3 years later, she returned to the music scene, this time under the label BMG Funhouse with single [[Aozora no Hate]]. In 2005, she released her first album, and in 2006 her second.

Okuda Miwako (奥田美和子) is a Japanese pop-rock artist, currently signed under the indie label, cocoon. Okuda originally made her debut in 2000, as Okuda Miwako and to DefSTAR Records, but later left the label in 2001. After a hiatus, she returned in 2003, signed to BMG Japan.

After the release of her second album in 2009, her releases became more sporadic, as her contract with the label ended.
