"PHANTOM MINDS" is the 21st single released by Mizuki Nana. The tile track will be used as the theme song for the movie Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st while "Don't be long" is its insert song as well. "PHANTOM MINDS" also was used as an power play song for Ongaku Senshi MUSIC FIGHTER, "Song communication" is an ending theme for TBS program Card Gakuen and "Juujika no Spread" is the theme song for the video game Shining Force Cross.

The single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon chart. This is the first single released by a seiyuu to ever reach #1 on the weekly Oricon chart. This beat the previous record for highest charting seiyuu singles, which was held by Mizuki's 19th single "Shin'ai" which peaked at #2 (it had peaked at #1 on the daily chart).
