Information

The group was formed on November 1995 after both Uchimura Teruyoshi and Chiaki failed to make it for the unit McKee. The group made a musical debut a couple months later in April 1996 with the single Rapturous Blue, which was a moderate success with it reaching the Oricon Top 20. But there next single, the rock-inspired YELLOW YELLOW HAPPY, was the group's first main hit and sold over a million copies.

The group released their third single, Red Angel, with no problem as the last singlr as it sold over a million copies. But, soon after, the Pocket Biscuits faced competition with the group Black Biscuits, which was another Japanese pop trio with Chinese singer Vivian Hsu. Even though they had a new competition for the top of Oricon, the group'a popularity only went as they released their first album, Colorful, and had a tour at Tokyo Budokan. Even though the groups enjoyed their rivalry, at the end of 1998, the two groups came together to perform at the end of the year program, Kouhaku Utagassen, as "Pocket Biscuits & Black Biscuits".

In 1999, each member of Pocket Biscuits released there own solo single and continued to tour all around Japan. They released their final single as Pocket Biscuits on July 1999, entitled Days / My Diamond. The year after, the group paired up with Yumi Matsutoya as Yuming+Pocket Biscuits and released the single Millennium on January 2000. Soon after that single was released, the group decided to disband in order for Chiaki to focus more on her solo career. There has been rumors that the group will be revived once more but it hasn't happened yet.
