"Vanilla" is the second single released by Gackt. This was first released as a 8cm single, and about a year and a half later a 12cm re-issue was released. The re-issue comes with the title song's PV in CD-EXTRA format. The title song was first used as the ending theme for CTV: NTV's Romihii, and when re-released it was used as the CM song for "Takano Yuri Beauty Clinic". The 8cm single reached #4 on the Oricon chart, and the re-issue reached #12 on the Oricon chart. The 8cm single charted for 10 weeks, while the re-issue charted for six weeks.
