Information

While in grade school, Ishida Hikari moved to Taiwan because of her father's job. But when she came to Japan, her older sister and herself was scouted and signed a contract with Box Coporation. In 1987, she made her singing debut with the single "Emerald no Suna" under Teichiku Records. Around the same time, she also made her acting career by starring in the dorama Tsuma-tachi no Kagai Jyuugyou II. Her biggest achievement came in 1992 when she starred as the main character in the movie Futari. She gotten so popular that she was host for the red team on the end of the year show Kouhaku Uta Gassen for 1992 and 1993.

In 2001, she married NHK director Kurube Kei. She also gave birth to two daughters, one in 2003 and another in 2005.
