JANEL is a Japanese pop girl group formed by avex trax's sub-label rhythm zone in 2009. They are described as a "super vocal" and "dance unit" and have been called the "Japanese Pussycat Dolls". Their group name is an acronym for "JAPAN NEEDS LADIES", and the group is comprised of five female personalities: "Power" (Grow), "Sexy" (Azuni), "Beauty" (MARIE), "Cool" (naoca), and "Cute" (YUKO).
