Lea Salonga or Lea Salonga-Chen is a Filipino singer and actress who became renowned for her portrayal of Kim in 1989 Cameron Mcintosh Production of Miss Saigon. She currently resides with her husband in United States where she's still active in Broadway Theater Productions.

Lea Salonga started in theater at the age of 7 by performing in Repertory Philippines' production of King and I and has then acted in several plays. At the age of 10, she had been released by Sony BMG Pilipinas as an artist with her debut album Small Voice. She had been in Entertainment limelight with hosting jobs, appearing in various films and releasing her secod album.

It wasn't in 1989 did she reach extreme popularity not only in Philippines but in the world as well when she was chosen by Cameron Mcintosh himself to play the role of Kim in Miss Saigon that was held in London after hearing her rendition of On my Own. In 1990, the production of Miss Saigon move from its home in London to New York Broadway with Lea as still the main actress. With her breakthrough in Broadway theater, she had been casts in a numerous productions, even sung in 2 Walt Disney Animation Film.

She had also received numerous award in and outside Philippines. Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Outer Critis Cirls to name a few. In 2005, she performed in Carnegie Hall sponsored by PhilRadio International. She's currently in United States, taking a hiatus from Theater due to her pregnancy.
