Information

"Sakura" is Kobukuro's 12th single. The title track was the Kobukuro's first original song. It was first released on their second indie album, Root of my mind, in 2000, five years later it was re-recorded and re-released as a single. "Sakura" was used as theme song for the dorama Ns' Aoi. The single reached #3 on the Oricon charts and sold 161,031 copies in 2005, becoming the #61 single of the year. It also sold 263,003 copies in 2006, becoming #30 single of the year. "Sakura" charted for 66 weeks and sold a total of 434,389 copies.

The months later, the single was re-released under the title "Sakura (Spring Package)". It was released as CD+DVD edition only and the first press comes with Kobuchi Kentarou's handwritten lyrics for the title track. The cover for this edition is slightly different from the regular edition of "Sakura" single, with the cherry blossoms bloomed.
