Template talk:Hirakawachi-Itchome

I think this should be changed to Icchome - I've never seen it romanized like this until now, and a Google search result of "hirakawachi itchome" automatically searches for "icchome" instead. ~ Wapiko 02:59, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

It's officially romanized as "Itchome". See this URL and these pics: [1] [2] [3]. (Last one is tiny, but you can make out a T.) --Lambchopsuey 03:05, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, that's interesting. I feel like we had some sort of discussion about this sort of thing back at ThePPN but my memory's not so hot. Anyone? ~ Wapiko 03:18, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
It reminds me to the Yazima Biyoushitsu case. They romanize the name as "Yazima", but I have never seen 矢島 romanized other than "Yajima". I guess if the artist choose a romanization it's that the one we should keep, and in those goods photos it clearly says "Itchome" (and I also see an dash..).--Pizca 03:31, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
That's true, but I know we've also gone with the romanization that yields the most results in searches as well. I'm a little lost. LOL ~ Wapiko 03:46, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
I think it should be "Hirakawachi-Itchome" like in the pics. According to Hepburn romanization, it should be "Itchome" instead of "Iccome" anyway, and other places that contain 一丁目 use a dash. (Examples.) --Lambchopsuey 16:59, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
