Yasuda got her start in show business when she was scouted in third grade. She made her acting debut in 1981 in a Kaou Violet commercial. That following year, she began to appear in doramas, starting with the dorama Home Sweet Home.

In 1984, Yasuda made her singing debut with the single "[Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa" under the label Tokuma Japan. The song was used as the theme for the Miyazaki Hayao animated movie [Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa in which Yasuda won the grand prix and beat out 7,500 applicants in a contest to pick someone to sing the theme song. However, Yasuda's singing career was short-lived as she gave up her singing career in 1988 to focus better on her acting career.

In 1989, Yasuda performed as the character Natori Chinami in the dorama Doukyuusei which became a smash hit. Five years later, Yasuda married actor Kinashi Noritake whom she met on the set of the movie Zorobanzuku in 1986.

Yasuda make her comeback debut in 2001 with the dorama Limit Moshimo, Wagako ga... after the birth of her first son in 1999. However, when her daughter was born in 2003, she took another hiatus. In 2004, Yasada and Kinashi started a clothing business called "3116 GALLERY CAFE" in Tokyo. Two years later, she made another acting comeback in the dorama Saigo no Yakusoku.
