Taeyeon (태연) is a Korean pop singer. She is a member and leader of the girl group Girls' Generation. She is the oldest of the nine member group and she has also appeared in variety shows such as We Got Married and hosts her own radio program.

Taeyeon was born on March 9,1989. She was a trainee for SM Entertainment for 5 years and 3 months before joining the group Girls' Generation. She is the leader and also the main vocalist of the group.
She also contributed to a couple of soundtrack as a solo artist, singing the song If, for the KBS2 drama Hong Gil Dong, and Can You Hear Me...? from the Beethoven Virus soundtrack. "If" became popular on various online charts, around the same time Girls' Generation's Baby Baby was released, while "Can You Hear Me" received the YEPP Popularity award at the 2008 Golden Disk Awards.
