Haikyuu!! is a Sports Shounen manga series, which is written and illustrated by Furudate Haruichi. The first volume released on 2012 (originally appeared as a one-shot comic in 2011), and it's still ongoing. In June 2019 will be the volume 38 released in Japan. The manga is quite popular, sold more than 34 million copies worldwide, and got mainly positive reviews from the critics. Due to the popularity of the manga, it got an anime adaptation. The first episode was airing in April 6th 2014. The first series was 25 episodes long, and it lived more series. The fourth season will be started in Autumn 2019.

The manga was licenced by the Viz Media in english, and by Kazé Manga in german.

Synopsis

One day, Hinata Shouyou saw a Volleyball match on the TV, which the Karasuno Koukou's team won, thanks to the "Little Giant". Hinata was highly inspired by the misterious Volleyball Hero, and started to play in his middle-school. Although he can't play with a team, because he's the only one, who entered the Volleyball Club. In spite, he could create a team, and he could play is first and only match with the Kitagawa Daichi middle school. This team's member was Kageyama Tobio, who got "The King of the Court" as a sobriquet, because of his maximalist and tyrant attitude. Although Kitagawa Daichi team easily won the match, Kageyama took notice on Hinata's speed and jumping ability, and he always does his best, even if there's no chance of winning. Hinata took a resolution, that one day he will defeat Kageyama. He chose the Karasuno High School, where he can train Volleyball seriously. He was very surprised, what it was revealed to him, that Kageyama will be his team mate. Here starts the Karasuno High School's career to the national championship.
