Biography

In June of 1998, classmates Nakashima Yumi (Yuu) and Hamada Akiko (Akko) formed a band together. The duo, hailing from Kagoshima, originally only sung cover songs until they later joined by Hosokawa Takayuki (Turkey) in 1999, and in 2000 the trio moved to Tokyo to start more serious musical activities.

Originally gaining something of a cult following, it wasn't until 2003 when they finally hit the top 10 of the Oricon weekly album charts. They released their third album Tategami on February 26th, making it to #5 (a full 10 places above the previous one, the cover album Tora no Ana).

Both vocalists of the band have had separate solo projects. GO!GO!7188 released their comeback single after a break in 2005, "Kinkyori Ren'ai", which was followed by their fifth studio album, Parade.

On February 10, 2012, the band announced on their website that they were disbanding.
