8EIGHT8 is the sixth studio album recorded by Kimura Kaela. It was released in two editions: a limited CD+DVD edition version and a regular CD edition. The limited edition includes a DVD with music videos for all of the album's singles plus a special movie about the album's recording. The album is completely composed and produced by her longtime collaborator and baking band member Watanabe Shinobu of ASPARAGUS. It is her only record to feature a sole producer, and the first released since the birth of her son.[1]
Oricon Chart Positions
The album reached #1 on the weekly Oricon chart, and it continued to rank for a total of 13 weeks. This is Kimura's second #1 album, and first single 2007's Scratch. Since the record sold 72,748 copies in 2011, it became the #89 Best selling album of the year.
