BaBe made their debut in 1987 by being on many variety and musical television programs. Their music career started a month later with the eurobeat single "Give Me Up", originally by Michael Fortunati, on Feburary 1987. The single was a huge success that even today, other J-Pop artists, like W and Tamiki Nami, has covered the song. Their success continued with their second single, "I Don't Know", that same year. The song earned the group awards like the 29th Annual Nihon Record Taishou's Rookie of the Year award.
