"Wakakusa no Koro" or "A Fantastic Moment" is a Shibuya-Kei song recorded by Kahimi Karie, and produced by Oyamada Keigo. It is a dreamy acoustic pop track, featuring Kahimi's vocals and Monsieur Kamayatsu's (part of the Shibuya-Kei scene, and was also featured on CORNELIUS' 69/96) performing the backing vocals. The song is performed in Japanese, but often referred to by it's English title.
Music Video
The music video for "A Fantastic Moment" features Kahimi playing around with a video camera. The video goes back and forth between scenes of Kahimi recording herself in the studio and scenes of her out in nature.
Disambiguation
There are currently three versions of "Wakakusa no Koro" to be found in Kahimi Karie's discography. The following are listed chronilogical order of release:
- Wakakusa no Koro
- Found on Kahimi's 1995 mini-album LEUR L'EXISTENCE as track #2. This is the version set to the music video. The song was later placed as the B-side on Kahimi's best ranking single "GOOD MORNING WORLD".
- Wakakusa no Koro
- Found on the Let's Sing with Kahimi Karie 8in CD included with the first press of LEUR EXISTENCE as track #1. This version does not feature any of the backing male vocals.
- Wakakusa no Koro (Demo Version)
- Found on Kahimi's fourth mini-album Le Roi Soleil as track #5. This is the original demo recording and therefor is a lot more stripped down.
