Information

K.K.K.K.K. is the second full length album recorded by Kahimi Karie. The record was released in both CD and a double vinyl format as well as being released in both Japan and the United States. It is her first album release since breaking up with former producer (last worked on 1996's Le Roi Soleil) and ex-boyfriend Oyamada Keigo; whom is better known for his solo work as CORNELIUS and half of the Shibuya-Kei icons FLIPPER'S GUITAR. The Japanese CD and vinyl were released under CRUE-L RECORDS. The US edition of the CD was released through Le Grand Magister. This is Kahimi's last release for a couple of years; she would return in 2000 releasing three albums: the mini-albums Once Upon a Time and Journey to the Center of Me, and the full length LP Tilt.

Kahimi is credited as the producer on K.K.K.K.K., but it's more of an executive role. The album is made up of tracks by several different producers. For the record she worked with long-time collborator Momus, Takimi Kenji, Kanda Tomoki, Hirohisa Horie, and Stereo Total.

The record reached #30th on the weekly Oricon chart, and continued to rank for a total of five weeks. K.K.K.K.K. is the best selling full length album recorded by Kahimi, and her fifth best selling over all.
