E'm~grief~ (/ˈaɪm/) is a four member visual-kei band. They officially formed in May of 2008, under the indies label UNDER CODE PRODUCTION in Osaka City, with the band concept of I'm~grief~. They lacked a bassist until the release of their first mini-album Daze; their producer, KISAKI, would fill in for bass recording. The band is known for their experimental music mixing together rock, metal, and a wide array of various (almost random) electronic sounds.
On october 12th, 2010 it was announced through Cecir's blog that after their December 29th live at LIVE HALL aube shibuya, E'm~grief~ would be going into an indefinite activity pause.[1] A week before the hiatus the group released their first best of album, a 13-track disc titled grief.

E'm~grief~ was formed on May 20th, 2008 already signed with a label, the independent visual-kei and oshare-kei production company and label UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. The line-up was Rita (ex-CalorZe) on vocals, Cecir (ex-Juka live support) on guitar and cello, Yuze (also ex-Juka live support) on guitar and sound programming, and Majyu (ex-Jikuu Kaizoku SEVEN SEAS) on drums. Until after their mini-album release, KISAKI would be their guest bassist for recording only.
The band's debut single "Eternal melody" was released about two months later, on July 2nd. It was a part of a two consecutive month single release plan. Their second single and the end of the plan, "Pains of aspiration", was released on August 6th. E'm~grief~'s first singles and debut launch took nearly 300 hours of work and production.[2]
