So Yeon (소연) is a Korean pop singer. She is the main vocalist for T-ara, and was an SM Entertainment trainee scheduled to debut as a member of Girls' Generation, however she withdrew from the group before they debuted due to the stressful training regime. Her real name was "Park In Jung". She later changed her name to her stage name "So Yeon" officially due to her, her peers, and family always referring to her as "So Yeon" and not "In Jung" ever since she was a little girl.
