Information

In 1998, Mimoto Chii signed to Sony Records and debuted in 2000 with the stage name aira. However, after the release of her second single, she took one year of hiatus due to dissimilar ideas for her career between her and Sony Records. During that time, she worked as a recording staff member for other artists, such as ORANGE RANGE's song "Hai! Moshi Moshi... Natsu Desu!". After the hiatus, Mimoto decided to leave her company to find a new path for her singing career. In the year 2006, she changed her stage name to chie. One year later, in 2007, she signed to ZAIN RECORDS and made her re-debut in March 2008 with the single "Hajimari" under her real name Mimoto Chii.

Her brother, Mimoto Masanori is also an actor.
