"Utsukushiki Hibi yo / Sayonara wa Itsumo Soba ni" is Shimizu Shota's fourth solo single and fifth overall. "Utsukushiki Hibi yo" was used as the theme song for Puro Yakyuu Chuukei 2009 and as the opening theme song for the TV-show Ryuha-R. The single reached #14 on the Oricon weekly charts and charted for 5 weeks.
Composer Mitsuda Yasunori shares a writing credit for "Kaze no You ni," which samples his composition "Kaze no Doukei"/"Wind Scene" from the 1995 JRPG Chrono Trigger.
