Information

DLH promoting "Jump!" (2010)

Dorothy Little Happy was formed in 2010 from graduated members of the unit B♭ from Step One Sendai Junior Talent Agency. Producer Sakamoto Satoru got the inspiration for the group's name from the lead character in the novel The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.

Dorothy Little Happy released their first single, "Jump!", in 2010 under an indies label. However, two months later, MICHIYO decided to graduate from the group in order to focus more on her studies. That didn't stop the group as they signed with the label avex trax in early 2011 and released their first major release, the mini-album Demo Sayonara. They released their first major single, entitled "HAPPY DAYS!", on January 2012.

In 2015, members RUUNA, MIMORI, and KOUMI graduated from the group. KANA and MARI continued on as a duo, releasing the single "Restart" now under the Universal GEAR label.

In July 2017, leader KANA graduated, leaving MARI as the sole member until her graduation at the end of 2018.

The year 2019 saw the addition of several new members: Kurimura Fuka and Kato Akina on February 11th, Kurokawa Kiri on April 7th, Takeuchi Nana on May 19th, and Watanabe Kohaku, Saito Kirara, and Utsumi Rina on November 23rd. Takeuchi Nana graduated the group that October after only five months, followed by Kurokawa Kiri in January 2020.
