Shida Mirai made her debut in 2000 with minor parts in Japanese dramas, but not until 2005 was she noticed when she starred in the drama "Jyoou no Kyoushitsu" (The Queen's Classroom), a series about a sixth grade class with a strict woman for a teacher. Shida starred as Kazumi, a girl in the class who simply wanted to be friends with everyone and made several efforts to unite the class together against their harsh teacher.
