Seigaku Regulars

Tennis no Oujisama (テニスの王子様; The Prince of Tennis) which is often shortened to Tenipuri is a shonen manga and anime series created by Konomi Takeshi. The manga was first published in July 1999 and was completed in March 2008. The manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. It spanned a total of 379 chapters resulting in 42 manga volumes. Starting March 2009, a new manga series Shin Tennis no Oujisama began serialization in Jump Square Magazine. The manga was adapted into an anime series in October 2001 directed by Hamana Takayuki. The anime spanned 178 episodes as well as a theatrical movie. The manga series was liscenced in the North America by Viz Media, and was released under their Shonen Jump line.

The series' success has lead to multiple character albums, singles, video games, radio shows (known as Rajipuri), musicals (known as Tenimyu), and a live action movie (Cenipuri). The series also has a Chinese live action adaption.

Synopsis

Tennis no Oujisama centers 12 year old tennis prodigy Echizen Ryoma, who has recently returned to Japan. Following the footsteps of his father, Echizen joins Seishun Gakuen, a junior high school, known for its strong tennis club. He easily secures a spot on the team. The Seishun Gakuen tennis team must undergo many obstacles and opponents to claim the National Title.

List of Prince of Tennis Episodes

The Tennis no Oujisama Anime spans 178 episodes. The episodes are divided into eight seasons. Which are followed by 3 OVA DVDs which follow the series through the nationals.

Live Action Movie

Tennis no Oujisama is a 2006 live action movie. The story line follows from when Ryoma arrives at Seigaku to their match against Hyoutei Gakuen.

Musicals

Tenimyu or Musical Tennis no Oujisama are the Tennis no Oujisama Musicals that are primarily performed in Japan. They began in April 2003 and are still currently running.
