Generasia would not be possible without tokyograph and all the wonderful people who've contributed over the past 15 years. Thank you!

Hey.. thanks for your reply. Not sure if these talk pages are replied to like messages at forums or if you edit them like you edit templates (using == or === signs between replies), but I guess I can reply here. Anyways, the point on this is to be as close to thePPN's wiki while not "being" thePPN. In other words, I'd like to try a few unique ideas here, but following what thePPN did just simply worked, so it'll be up to future contributors to make it something special. There are a few pages like the Hikki page which don't look the same, but I know Delirium-Zer0's trying her own approach for the Ayu page. I've spoken with both Wapiko and DarkScorpion who've agreed to this, with Wapiko hopefully posting an announcement here sometime today. Should this wiki be as big as thePPN, that's great, but I do understand if people have doubts about this place since it's only been around for about a month. In time, however, I hope we can be a reputable source of Asian music info, as well as gaining the trust of future users with a reliable site that backups regularly.

Womby unfortunately has been unreachable for months. I realize he has his own problems to worry about in life (supposedly 10-14 hour days), it's unlikely he can help with providing any sort of backup. Only DS has a backup from 2005, so I'll try and get that up to move any articles that aren't here yet. Still, this is a pretty huge project to take on. Despite being able to port over about 50+ articles a day, thePPN had about 18,000 before vanishing. It'll take more help than just the 4-5 current contributors, but I know thePPN had a few thousand users.

If you need anything, please let me know via MSN (mechatronx@hotmail.com), AIM (OmegaPrime2020), or yahoo (omegaxprime). Thanks again for helping!

Thank you, I somewhat understand the purpose. Because I like Wiki.theppn style so I'm happy to contribute. I just want to make sure that we got permission to use the style and old data or not. And shouldn't we make a community page for everyone to discuss about things?Seph

Community Page

I'm up for that, but I thought I'd reply letting you know that I saw this as it's close to 2am here and I'm beat. I'll see about adding it in the morning :)

Disc Artworks

Thanks for letting me know. Otherwise, I might have added another one somewhere else

Thanks for fixing them. I'm still learning.

Minor grammer thing

When someone covers a song by another artist, like "Sotsugyou Shashin" on Hamasaki Ayumi's "A Ballads" is should read "(Matsutoya Yumi cover)". When you say Matsutoya Yumi's cover, it make it possessive, which makes it sound like Yuming is the one singing a cover of Hamasaki's song. ~ Themonkeyofdoom 04:18, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you, I will pay more attention about it in the future. --Seph 06:08, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Oricon Charts

Hey, thanks for completing the Oricon chart on Kaze no Chroma. I was just wondering where you can find archives of old Oricon charts. --Lambchopsuey 04:00, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

^_^ Here for the Under 101 Oricon charts and her for previous data. Seph 04:12, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! It is very useful. :) --Lambchopsuey 20:10, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Maki Goto

The Maki Goto text was not copied from the wikipedia. It is me who wrote it for Jpop Stop Wiki and J-Ongaku, then posted it on the English Wikipedia to have it updated too. So please, reverse the edit, as it looks confusing now, without sales numbers or anything. :) --Madetwenty 13:18, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I checked Wikipedia Goto's page history and not all biography is written you, only the avex part and I don't feel anything confusing without sales numbers. Sorry, I'm not going to revert my editions. About the page, if you are feeling uncomfortable with the page, please feel free to edit it, thank you! Seph 15:31, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

RE: Gallary

Hello! I saw that you wrote this on FoxxyFuyumi's page:

  1. We are not a gallery so please do not upload that tone of images like Base Ball Bear or Onitsuka Chihiro page. In artist page, I don't think we need two (or more) promotional pictures for one year and for album / single page, if you don't have place for it, just drop it.

Are there space limitations on this wiki or something? I personally love those two artist pages with the images. It makes it really vibrant and eye catching which separates this wiki from other pages that contain mass amounts of text. Plus - and this is specific to those pages - I enjoy how you can track the 'artist image' throughout their career's time. --Ringo 04:11, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

No, there aren't any space limits, but I think he's simply ensuring pages don't have 20+ random images (not saying you added that many, but I'm imagining it's following the previous thePPN policies). Guess Seph can explain better as he knows how it's done :) --EXodius 04:44, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
First, I'm not he XD. Second, a lot of images will bring us the problem of hotlinking. Yes, there aren't any limit about the amount of images uploaded but I think one promotional image for each year is enough? Something like Base Ball Bear promoting LOVE MATHEMATICS (2009) and Base Ball Bear promoting Kamigami LOOKS YOU (2009), they are 2 consecutive singles so they don't prove the maturation of the band by time and sometime we don't have enough space for all of the promotional pictures. Anyway, please feel free to edit this wiki, that what I want, thank you! Seph 08:16, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

I really dont understand If we have the space why we dont add some images. In Chihiro's and BBB's I dont understand the problem, but it's ok. I am always trying to make the Jpopstop community like Wiki's but since I came here I am always criticized every freaking day. I appreciate the exaplanations but I never saw in my page someone saying "Thank You", "Hey You made this mistake, but at least the main information is there"... It's really sad!

Well, I do apologize for the criticism you're getting. Keep in mind that while you may not get a "thank you" for every page you update, it's always much appreciated! I just think that we're trying to keep things to a minimum not so much for space, but bandwidth. Right now this site has craploads of bandwidth, but the original ppn wiki faced issues with server lag and eventually stopped working because of the tens of thousands who visited each day. I don't know if we'll get to that point without some promotion, but hopefully you and others can help build up this wiki to be a main source of asian music info :) --EXodius 14:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Me too, I apologize if I were harsh on you. Yes, I know all your love to artists, we are both fans (even though sometimes I'm just an electricity fan XD) and our goal are the same. I'm not meaning like this, it's just sometime I were so tired and I saw things but I were too tired to edit it. Anyway, all I want it everyone feel free and easy to edit this wiki. Please continue your good work. --Seph 15:59, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

it's ok

It's ok guys I just feel kinda sad but now that I saw your comments I feel better. I will try to do what you told me. If sometimes I forget I am sorry (sometimes I still forget to put the categories when uploading the images for example). Now that Seph explained how to search the Oricon releases pages I am adding the external links too. The thing that I didn't understand is the ranks. Can you explain again? I went to those pages but it's very confusing. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the explanation. I was able to do the oricon charts since mid/end of 2007. But I cant find the dates of YUI's releases between her debut to Rolling Star.

Hi Seph! I am sorry disturbing you again but where we can see the total sales in the Oricon website (or another website)? Oh and how we see old pages from Wiki theppn?

Here is a way to take data from the web archive. So far I know, Oricon doesn't public sales data unless we pay, I alway combined sales from the charts. On Jpopmusic forums, there is a thread for sales, or if you know some Japanese, you can ask here. Next time please sign or I don't known who is talking, please have a good day! Oh Thanks!! It was me, FoxxyFuyumi =D
