Utada Quotes
- Q: "When making this song that's about your state of mind after having a fight with a good friend, you were reading 'Poem Collection of Miyazawa Kenji', right?" "Yeah...The feeling of sound is so good in his poems, that it's like, "is this guy a musician?" My heart starts to beat so hard when I read his poems out loud. The "Lalalalalalala, lalala woah wah (ラララらララ ラララヲウヲオ)" part in Wings is probably trying to be like his poetry. I guess that's why I mixed the hiragana and katakana [Aka the two Japanese writing systems]." --Utada Hikaru
- "In Wings, there's the phrase 'Take a chance in the headwind and fly'. I think this is the image behind the song, much like how Keep Tryin's was about persisting with things. I think they sort-of run together as well. These two songs (Keep Tryin' and this) both have such a familiar feeling to them, and both are quite docile songs." --Utada Hikaru
