"Ao no Requiem" is the eighth single released by Hajime Chitose. It is also her second to be only two tracks. This was meant to be the lead in single for her fifth album Hanadairo, as this was released a week prior. Includes a cover of "Tooku e Ikitai", the song performed by Jerry Fujio and was written by Ei Rokusuke and Nakamura Daichi in 1962. The title song was used as the theme song for the 2006 film Hatsukoi, the movie adaption of the Nakahara Misuzu novel of the same name. "Ao no Requiem" was also used as the Pioneer "Pure vision" commercial theme song. The single reached #48 on the Oricon charts, where it charted for six weeks and sold 5,000 copies.
