Ayumu was the vocalist for indies band Cherry Feel until Megu spotted her at one of their live houses and got her for her own band which would later be named Zwei. The sunglasses she wears rarely come off when in public for fan events. Only twice has this happened; once was during their first concert in August 2004, and the second was during their appearance in the Lady Steady Go concert held in July 2007.
With the move to Universal and the single "1+1=2", Ayumu's sunglasses came off for the promotional images but she continues to wear them at fan events and in blog entries.
