- Information
"DA.YO.NE" is EAST END×YURI's first major single. The title track samples the song "Turn Your Love Around" by American musician George Benson. It was released after appearing on the album denim-ed soul. "DA.YO.NE" was later covered by various artists in different dialects and languages with much success. Because of the song's success, the group performed the song on the year end program Kouhaku Uta Gassen. "DA.YO.NE" also had a tribute album dedicated to it, entitled SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO DA.YO.NE, released in 1995.
At first, the single was a slow selling until radio stations across Japan, including FM NORTH WAVE, played the song in heavy rotation, helping to increase the single's sales and becoming a hit. Overall, the single reached #7 on the weekly Oricon charts and charted for thirty-nine weeks, selling 1,018,000 copies. Because the single sold 912,010 copies in 1995, it reached #33 on the yearly Oricon charts for that year.
