Fantastic Plastic Machine

Fantastic Plastic Machine, or simply FPM, is Tomoyuki Tanaka's stage name. He is a famed DJ, composer, arranger, mixer and producer. He has toured several parts of Europe and North America and is quite well known internationally thanks to his first two critically acclaimed albums.

His music is, by definition, part of the Shibuya-kei movement; famous for mixing different musical elements like Jazz, Bossa Nova, Pop, Electronica, Lounge and other musical styles. He is currently under the cutting edge label and is therefore also part of avex trax. L'Appareil-Photo Record Label is the publisher of all his vinyl releases, while Emperor Norton Records is the distributor for his releases in the US, SUAVE for Mexico, JUNIOR for UK, NITELITE RECORDS for Italy, PURPLE MUSIC for Switzerland and bungalow records for the rest of Europe (mainly Germany).

He reportedly got his name from a 1969 documentary & soundtrack of the same name.
