Information

In 1994, Jinu debuted in Korea as a solo artist with the popular song: "I Was the Captain". Yang Hyun-seok, former member of the Seo Taiji & Boys, heard about Jinu's fame and met up with him in Los Angeles to form the group Jinusean shortly after Sean joined. The duo aimed to combine English and Korean lyrics with Hip Hop and Funk. Shortly after their creation, Jinusean finally debuted in 1997 with their first song, "Gasoline."

Jinusean debuted in 1997 as a pop/hip-hop group under the tutelage of Yang Hyun Suk and Lee Hyun Do. However, after their first album they became the first artists to be a part of Yang Hyun Suk's new label, then named MF Family, and later officially YG Family.

Although they started their careers recording a mixture of hip-hip and pop, they switched completely to hip-hop with their third album, The Reign.

Jinusean has managed to remain popular throughout the life of their career and remains a major part of YG Entertainment.
