KUSU KUSU

KUSU KUSU was a Japanese band from 1988 to 1992. The band formed in 1988 after Jiro, MU, and Makoto decided to form a band in Hokkaido. They held their first live a few months later at a live house in Shimokitazawa. They soon competed in the TBS audition show Miyake Yuji to Ikasu Band Tenkoku, which they won the challenger award with the song "Orende Banana" and beat that week's challenger, FLYING KIDS. The band only appeared on the show twice as they lost against Yellow Taiyous a week after their defeat. By the end of 1989, the group released their first album, entitled Hikari no Kuni no Kodomotachi, on an indies label. They also held their first one man live with 1,000 people attended the show.

In 1990, the band released their major single, "Sekai ga Ichiban Shiawase na Hi", under the label Polydor Records. But at the end of 1992, the group would hold their last live tour, entitled Nihon Zenkoku Odori Meguri Tour, as they went into hiatus in 1994.
