Information

The band was formed in 1989 and appeared on the TBS audition show Miyake Yuji no Ikasu Band Tenkoku, winning the weekly challenge against the existing challenger GEN and becoming the new weekly challenger. They continued for four weeks on the show unbeaten but lost in the fifth week against KUSU KUSU. They made their major debut in 1990 with the single "Shiwase de Aru You ni" under the label Victor Entertainment.

Earlier in their career, the band's music was primarily funk rock. But when the single "Koi no Shunkan" was released in 1994, the band's musical tastes changed and their focused more on pop rock. After the change, the band's popularity began to rise as the singles "Kurayami de Kiss ~Kiss in the darkness~" (1995) and "Discovery" became smash hits. However, by the end of 1998, the band broke up with each member pursuing their own solo careers.

The band's dissolution didn't last long as the FLYING KIDS came back together in 2007 as a six member band and made their first comeback appearance at the RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2007. They released their first comeback single, entitled "Domanatsu", two years later under the label SPEEDSTAR RECORDS.
