- Information
"Kore ga Watashi no Ikiru Michi" is the second single released by PUFFY. The title track was used for Japanese brand Tessera's "Juicy-Juicy" shampoo line CM song. The song has since made several other appearances in the media such as: the Japanese/French film Wasabi (2001), the video game Donkey Konga 3: Tabe-houdai! Haru Mogitate 50 Kyoku (2005), the pilot episode of the American TV series Heroes (2006), and the video game Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (2007). The song's title is a play on the song "Kore ga Otoko no Ikiru Michi" by Ueki Hitoshi and Hana Hajime to Crazy Cats[1]. The B-side, "Yuki ga Furu Machi", is a cover of the 1993 single of the same name by their producer Okuda Tamio's band UNICORN. The single reached #1 on the weekly Oricon chart (and stayed at #1 for three consecutive weeks), where it stayed on the chart for a total of 31 weeks. In all the single sold a total of 1,566,000 copies[2], making it the duo's first #1 single and their best selling single[3]. Because 1,057,230 copies was sold in 1996 and 508,830 copies sold in 1997, the single reached #16 and #57 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1996 and 1997 respectively.
An English version of the song appears on their 2002 North American best album, An Illustrated History, titled "That's The Way It Is".
