"Suiren" is Kawano Marina's sixth single, and her second under Teichiku Imperial Records. The first-press limited edition version of the single came with a DVD, as well as a bonus track. The single reached #57 on the Oricon charts, and charted for one week.
The regular edition cover of the single shows Marina with her own guitar, a pink Stratocaster that she's had since her high school years.
The title of the song can also be read as "mizukoi", meaning "watery love". The promotional material for the song stated that the title should be read "suiren" instead, which if written with its normal kanji (睡蓮), means "water lily". This creates an interesting double meaning for the title, reading it how it would normally be read vs. how it should be read.

Music Video
A music video was created for the song and released on the same day that the single was officially announced. It features Kawano singing, dancing, and playing guitar in a room with water projected on the wall behind her, and on a street at night. Although she's not listed in the CD liner notes for contributing guitar to the song, in the music video she plays the rhythm guitar part for the song with her own pink Stratocaster.
