Uekusa Yuta (植草裕太) was a member of Johnny's Jr..
History
He is the son of Uekusa Katsuhide, a member of Shonentai. As he wanted to join Johnny & Associates, his father talked to the president of the company, Johnny H. Kitagawa.
Uekusa Yuta then joined as a Johnny's Jr. member in 2007. The same year he got to act in the drama 3 nen B gumi Kinpachi sensei season 8. During his days as a Jr. he also appeared on TV Show and in musicals like PLAYZONE.
Since April 2010 disappeared from activity. By June 2010, the press had reported his parents had been living in separate houses, and by December 2010 they had announced they were getting divorced. But the talent has re-appeared in the September issue of JUNON as a top 50 finalist in this year’s JUNON Superboy Contest. It has been reported he has taken on his mother’s maiden name, and is now called Higuchi Yuta Higuchi. While details of his past in Johnny’s have not been touched on, the magazine shows Yuta, 20 cm taller than before and that he is a fan of K-POP and J-POP, and he plans to sing in the finals if he is chosen.
On November 2011, he won the Photogenic award and was the second runner-up for the 24th Junon Superboy Contest.
