The Japanese company Overse announced on March 29, 2023 that it would be teaming up with a well-known producer Akimoto Yasushi to create a new idol project called "IDOL3.0 PROJECT". The project started recruiting members in early April, with auditions being held in seven major cities in Japan. The goal of the project was to be an idol group that is not bound by the traditional idol image and management model, with the group continuing to "renew" with the changes of the times. Activities would be divided into "physical" activities such as concerts and handshake meetings, as well as "virtual" activities carried out in the Metaverse, breaking the barriers of national boundaries and expanding the scope of activities of traditional idols to the whole world. Out of 10,000 hopefuls and a rigorous selection process, 11 finalists were announced on October 7, 2023. The group's name and logo were unveiled as WHITE SCORPION, symbolizing purity, sincerity, and strength.
The group made their debut on December 7, 2023 with the digital single "Manazashi Sniper".
