Yaguchi Hitori

Yaguchi Hitori (やぐちひとり) is a half-hour entertainment information television show hosted by former Morning Musume leader Yaguchi Mari and comedian Gekidan Hitori. It airs in Japan on the TV Asahi network Tuesday nights from 25:21 to 25:51 (1:21am to 1:51am). The hosts answer viewer questions on appropriate entertainment for various situations and have various guests on. The show first aired on October 10, 2004. There was a one hour Film Festival Special in late 2004.

April 3rd 2007 the show changed name to Yaguchi Hitori Maru C (やぐちひとり(C)) and the purpose/subtitle of the show was changed from "Entertainment Rescue" to "Entertainment Research". The (C) in the title was in a later episode revealed to be short for Culture.

In the renewal-process the show got a new logo, a new studio, a slightly new format and also changed from a 4:3 to a high-definition widescreen broadcast format. The content of the show mostly remained the same although the people responsible for the actual entertainment-news of the show were removed.

After a period of adjustment, a new entertainment-news section called Weekly entup (short for Weekly entertainment up) was added, with rotating hosts. Currently Shimamoto Mai, referred to as Maimai, hosts this part and is a regular on the show.
