ANGERME

ANGERME (アンジュルム), formerly known as S/mileage (スマイレージ), is a Japanese pop girl group managed by Up-Front Promotion and part of Hello! Project. The group's name derives from the French words ange ("angel") and larme ("tears"), and was rebranded in December 2014 to mark a new start after adding its third generation of members.

In 2010, the group won the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist. Since then, ANGERME's combined CD and DVD sales have exceeded one million copies sold in Japan alone, with their highest selling single "Watashi wo Tsukuru no wa Watashi / Zenzen Okiagarenai SUNDAY" selling 76,588 copies and their lowest selling single "Koi ni Booing Buu!" selling 20,954 copies.

In 2011, five new girls were added to the group as part of the second generation, with two being former Egg members and three new girls. In 2014, three new members joined the group as third generation members. Since the formation of the group, there have been nine generations and twelve departures. As of December 2021, the total number of members of the group stands at ten members.

Their 30th major single, "Ai Mashou / Hade ni Yacchaina! / Aisubekibeki Human Life", is released this week on May 11th.
