I-13 (2005)

i-13 (아이 써틴) was a Korean pop super girl group consisting of 13 members. The group trained for 2 years before debuting in 2005 under Lime Entertainment. They were considered the female Super Junior, which also debuted in 2005. They went on hiatus after the release of their first album and unofficially disbanded some time later.

Information

12 of the 13 names (all excluding Mo, which means "pattern") are based on the Chinese calendrical system of Earthly Branches, though the names do not appear to have been assigned in any particular order. It was reported in February 2007 that i-13 would undergo a makeover: the group would be reduced to 6 members, with 3 original members and 3 brand new members, and with the change in number the group name would also be changed. There was then no news about the group for over two years, until their record company announced in June 2009 that three members (Jing, Ja and Sa) would be starting a new group called JQT with one new member.
