Information

Gyaruru, April 2007. L to R: Tsujiji, Sonene, Amimi

The formation of the group was first noted on the June 2007 issue of the gal magazine Ranzuki, which was released in mid-April 2007. The official announcement was made on April 24th 2007 on the TNX website and at a launch event.

The announced group featured talento Gal Sone, gravure idol Tokito Ami and singer Tsuji Nozomi. Only a couple weeks after the official announcement, on May 8, Tsuji announced her withdrawal due pregnancy and engagement. On May 15, 2007, it was announced that singer Abe Asami would be joining the group.

Under the names of Sonene, Amimi and Abebe, the three girls formed the group Gyaruru, which was described as a Para Para gal unit. The name "Gyaruru" is based on the Japanese 'Gyaru', a transliteration of the English 'gal'.

Their first single "Boom Boom Meccha Maccho!" was a Eurobeat track released on June 20th 2007 under the TN-mix label. In May 2008, their official blog closed becoming an unofficial announcement of the group's disbandment.
