EMI Music Japan, formerly Toshiba-EMI is one of Japan's leading music companies. The company was formerly a joint venture between EMI and Toshiba, however in 2006 Toshiba sold its part of the company and in 2007 the company officially became EMI Music Japan. In 2012, with the main EMI being sold by Universal Music Group, the Japanese unit became a sub-label of Universal Music Japan.
