shinsekai is the fifth studio album and third full-length album released by Midori. The album comes two years after their last stuido album (Aratamemashite, Hajimemashite, Midori Desu.) and over a year after their last release, the single "swing". This is Midori's first major label album to feature Goto Mariko on the cover. The song "Haru Mellow", is an unsual change of speed for the band as it is a ballad and features vocals from the band's keyboardist Hajime. The album received a rating of four stars out of five stars from Rolling Stone Japan [1]. The album reached #17 on the weekly Oricon chart, and stayed on the chart for a total of four weeks.
