“Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu” movie to star Takei Emi, Matsuzaka Tori

A few days ago, it was revealed that Minami Kanan’s shoujo manga series “Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu” is getting a live-action movie. Today, it was announced that the movie will star actress Takei Emi (17) and actor Matsuzaka Tori (23).

Takei will play the role of the protagonist Hibino Tsubaki, while Matsuzaka will play the male lead and love interest Tsubaki Kyota. Both of them have previously worked on-screen together in the television dramas “Asukou March!” and”GOLD,” but this is their first time together in a movie.

The movie is said to include original scenes that were not in the manga. Filming will begin in early January but is expected to take longer than usual in order to capture things such as the changing seasons. Theatrical release is scheduled for sometime in 2012.

Furusawa Takeshi (“Another,” “Ghost Train”) will direct.
